We are working towards the creation of our first Dementia Adventure Centre – a specifically designed ‘centre of excellence’ that is dementia friendly, accessible for all impairments, homely and stimulating. A place where people are nurtured and supported to live well, irrespective of their diagnosis.
The creation of a Dementia Adventure Centre is the next step on our journey in supporting people with dementia and their carers, to have better choices and live well with dementia.
We are working with Bates Wells and Braithwaite’s to examine the social and financial sustainability of our long-term vision for a series of Dementia Adventure Centres. Our objective is to create a valued community resource that integrates into local communities. The Dementia Adventure planning group is taking this work forward through 2017 with full support from Dementia Adventure Trustees.
Over the last five years we have successfully financed, delivered and expanded our range of supported dementia holidays and dementia training. We are now inviting partners and social investors to help us to bring this centre to life. If you would like to be involved in the development of this innovative project or find out more details about the centre contact Neil Mapes on 01245 237548 or email email@example.com.
