Dementia Awareness week was celebrated this week in style at Hylands park, Chelmsford, in the glorious sunshine. 89 people attended the walk, in the largest outdoor gathering of people living with dementia and their carers that we have ever seen! Ranging in age from 2 to 98, everyone was out in force to spread the message that being out in nature, especially on a beautiful spring day, is a basic human need. Care homes were able to come to the gathering due to the support of the Woodland Trust's VisitWoods Programme. Park walks, made possible by CBC's Chelmsford GrandAwards, will be continuing every Wednesday until the beginning of August, at 10.30 am, meeting at the stable yard.
