Operations Co-ordinator Vacancy

Dementia Adventure is an award winning charity which helps connect people living with dementia and their carers & supporters with nature and the outdoors. An important part of our provision is adventurous holidays for people living with dementia and their carers to go on together. This is our alternative to models of respite which may be outdated and inapproriate for many. The holidays allow people to be supported but to remain together and to have a break which gives them some resilience to carry on living independently. 

The Ops Co-ordinator we are seeking will help co-ordinate, deliver and expand the programme of holidays and short breaks for Dementia Adventure, including leading some adventure holidays as well as fulfilling many administrative functions in the office. We are looking for someone experienced with taking responsibility for groups of people with special needs at the same time as organising itineraries behind the scenes: personable, capable, friendly and empathetic, as well as highly practical and organised. 

The Main Purpose of the role is to ensure efficient, effective and successful day to day practical co-ordination and office support for DA holidays and short breaks working closely with the COO, Volunteer Co-ordinator, Adventure Leader, administration staff and volunteers. The ability to lead holidays will help expand the range, diversity and availability of the holidays in line with the 2020 DA Business Plan. This includes holidays operated by DA and supporting further expansion of holidays through licensed partner organisations.

The role is 30 hours a week, based in Ford End just outside Chelmsford.
