We’re excited that 2017 is shaping up to be an incredible year, where even more people living with dementia get access to the outdoors, to connect to nature, themselves and their communities. To kick off the year, here is a brief word from our new Chair of Trustees - John Barnes.
Dementia Awareness Week runs this month from the 15-21 May.
We believe it is possible for people living with dementia to live well, have contact and connection with the outdoors and enjoy a sense of adventure in their lives. In support of Dementia Awareness week we have put together 5 simple ways in which you can do just that.
Over the last few months we have had the pleasure of adding some highly experienced and passionate individuals to our governance teams. As Dementia Adventure is both a Community Interest Company (CIC) and a Charity (Dementia Adventure Trust) we have different Governance teams for different parts of the business. We are privileged to have the input and support of this incredible group of people.
This training event is an exciting collaboration that will provide you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to support people living with dementia to get outdoors, connect with nature, themselves and their community, and retain a sense of adventure in their lives
We are very pleased to announce this month sees the first of our social licence partnerships launch - with Moray Council in Scotland. Over the next year we will be working comprehensively with Moray Council to provide them with the skills, expertise and confidence they need to implement Dementia Adventure activities in their community.
