We are very pleased to announce this month sees the first of our social licence partnerships launch - with Moray Council in Scotland. Over the next year we will be working comprehensively with Moray Council to provide them with the skills, expertise and confidence they need to implement Dementia Adventure activities in their community.
Last month we delivered another very successful Walk Leader Training day with the Kent Wildlife Trust. Dementia friendly walks are an opportunity for people living with dementia and their carers, families and friends to get outdoors in a safe and supportive way. The aim being that by helping more and more people living with dementia to maintain their connection with nature and the outdoors and to retain a sense of adventure we can make new opportunities to live well with dementia in our communities.
We are delighted to announce that players of People’s Postcode Lottery have awarded an extra £1.425 million to long-term supported charities. We are one of 57 charities that will receive an extra £25,000 award from players of the charity lottery.
Did you know that many charities rely on legacies for a significant proportion of their income? These gifts make a huge difference. Dementia Adventure has a vision of society in which people live well with dementia, have contact and connection with the outdoors, and enjoy a sense of adventure.
