We all know that getting out in the fresh air and having a sense of adventure in our lives makes us feel better, and for people who often spend much of their time indoors it can be doubly beneficial. Yet many people living with dementia, whether in care or in their own home, can face barriers to accessing these benefits.
Dementia Adventure helps to negotiate these barriers, equipping delegates with the evidence; practical skills and confidence to help people living with dementia retain a sense of adventure in their lives.
Using our experience of delivering positive nature and outdoor based holidays and activities for people living with dementia, our team of qualified and experienced trainers deliver a range of training and bespoke support. We have enabled carers, staff, managers and volunteers from leading conservation charities, care home providers, local authorities, housing associations and other organisations across the UK help people live better with dementia.
Our training is ideally suited to small groups of between 8 and 12 people. We offer both ‘tailored’ and ‘off the shelf’ support to address specific challenges, objectives and opportunities you may have, as well as more general support. Our team of project leaders have a broad range of experience and contacts and expertise in a variety of sectors which can be drawn on to meet your particular local requirements.
